Using Actions With Visual Studio 2008

I have several complex workflows that I've developed in VS2008 and would like to add functionality provided by these activities. I do not know how I am supposed to use these within VS though since everything says to create a new workflow within SPD. I cannot reference the DLL in my project even though it exists in the GAC. VS simply refuses to see it. I cannot use SPD for these workflows because of all of the custom code that I'm running so I'm stuck. Can anybody steer me in the right direction? Thanks.

I am using VStudio 2005. I hadn't installed the DLL to the GAC, but I extracted the DLL from the .wsp file (renamed to .zip and extracted).

Right-clicking withing the Toolbox brings up context menu with the item "Choose Items..." on it. Click on it.

A small window with three tabs opened up. On the ".NET Framework Components" tab I chose "Browse..." and selected the DLL. Then I pressed "OK" and voila! Several new workflow activities are listed in the Toolbox.

Hope it helps.
