Created Issue: Installation Issue - Failed to install with error SharePoint 3.0 not installed (it is) [16129]

I am working with SharePoint 2010 Foundation. I previously successfully installed and used these custom activies.

Following are the steps I took to get to the above error "SharePoint 3.0 not installed." - keep in mind Useful SP Designer Activites was already installed and working.

I installed a form program that sits on top of SharePoint called Infowise Ultimate Forms, which installed corrected and with no issues.

a few days later I notice that my workflow that were using the Custom Workflow Activies are failing.

I checked the workflows and they say "Error Message: Could not deserialize object. The type 'DP.Sharepoint.Workflow.SendEmailExtended' could not be resolved."

So I look in my actions and the Send Email Extended is missing (along with all the other custom activities).

Then I take a look at Central Admin Manage Site Features and the Useful SP Designer is not there.

I try to reinstall and get error "SharePoint 3.0 not installed."

Am I missing something?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Uncle Paul or other: I've deployed the solution, however, the Custom Workflow Activities are visible in SPD, but they are not added to the workflow after clicking the action button.

For example: From SPD workflow
1. Click Action.
2. Click one of the Custom Activities like lookup site user property.
3. Action window closes, but the activity is not added to the workflow.

Any ideas for me to try?

Hi Everyone,
I have SharePoint 2010 Server. I recently installed SP1 AND December 2012 Cumulative update successfully. After that while testing I am unable to add customs actions to workflow in SPD 2010 neither my previous workflows with these actions are workflow.
I have made changes to web.config, but didn't help. Let me know if someone has the solution
Any help is appreciated!

Hi,

I actually wanted to report an issue. I'm using these activities specially look up user info and infopath activities but on running WFs, I get "potentially excessive number of requests" message in the logs and this is causing performance issues to us where some of the workflows specially if the infopath form that the workflow is running on includes attachment have error in the WF (transaction time out) and sometimes this happens with forms without attachments and this is solved for the forms just without attachment by restarting WFs , we have a case opened with Microsoft and they informed us that this solution is causing alot of performance issues that most probably is the cause of our problem so please if anyone has encountered this issue let me know and below is a section from the logs showing the error so kindly advise if you could check this issue .

Commented Issue: Grant Permission on Item - Allow multiple groups to be granted permission from a single field [14656]

Has anyone found a solution to not being able to Grant permission on item to more than one group from a single field? I currently have the need to assign about 20 SharePoint groups permission to one item.

Yes, it's possible.

We've been using it for several years reliably, but it took a code change locally before pushing it out. In the AddLisItemPermissionAssignment.cs file, for the Execute method when you do a multiple select, it's still a string value, but those groups will be separated by semi-colons (going on memory here). So, split the UserName string on semi-colon and then foreach through the list. May have needed a Trim() on the string as well before using it.

Hi! I am still having this same timeout issue. What else can I try? I have even gone into the SQL server and granted admin rights to my account that is used to login the Timer service. Please help?

The Lookup User Info activity throws an error and stops if no data is found for a field. Would it be possible to default some text value, such as 'unknown', and then let it continue if no data exists. The error that appears in the workflow history list looks like this.

System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
at DP.Sharepoint.Workflow.LookupUserInfo.Execute(ActivityExecutionContext executionContext)

The biggest problem in my case is that this causes the workflow to stop. If it would continue then I could perform a check and default it to what ever I want. Instead it stopps and some important records never get written.

All, just wanted to share with you an issue that I encountered during the installation of this solution in case anyone else runs into this same issue. My farm is a two server environment running Windows 2008 R2 std, 64bit with SQL 2008 in the backend and SharePoint 2010 w/SP1 as the WFE. An in-place upgrade from Moss 2007 to SPS 2010 was done in January 2011.

I successfully installed and tested the solution in our test farm with no issues, However, after successfully running the setup.exe in my production WFE (logged in with our portal admin acct), I navigated to the our main web application landing page to have my browser return an http 503 error. On my WFE server, I opened IIS Manager and our primary application pool was halted. I have discovered that the solution failed to restart our web application pool. I was able to manually start the stopped application pool from IIS manager and was able to navigate to the main landing page once again. I then proceeded to do a server audit (error logs, SPS logs). Though I was unable to determine why, I suspect it had something to do with my environment. The main difference between my production and test environment, is that our test is a clean 2010 environment and our production was upgraded from Moss 2007. If anyone has encountered this issue that hadn't had their environment upgraded, please let me know, I'd appreciate it. Thank You

This problem exists on my MOSS2007 system after installing this tool. Using the features in this tool, I created a workflow that populates a column with the user's last name when they upload an item in a sharepoint library.

I (the Admin) get the desired result. But all other users get the message that Sharepoint\System has "access denied".

I followed the links in this site to get the DP.Sharepoint.Workflow.dll file. BTW maybe someone can check but the version is still 1.0.0.0, and public key token is 0298457208daed83. I installed it using GACUTIL and also tried another method using SUBST to create a folder structure that can take drag and drop. IISREST was run.

Maybe I still do not have the correct dll?

BTW, you can't add SharePoint\System as a Site Collection Admin but I tried that too.

Can anyone please help?

I just installed the latest build and wanted to test out with a simple workflow that sends out an email. I created a workflow in the SharePoint designer that uses the default send email activity. When pressing Finish (to deploy the workflow to the server), I'm getting this error:

I (the farmadmin) can execute workflows (and automatically, as is the setting in the wf as created by SPD), but all other users get the message that Sharepoint\System has "access denied".

Can anyone please help?

I created a view of a SharePoint list for different activities.
The using this solutions http://spservices.codeplex.com/wikipage?title=StartWorkflow&referringTitle=Workflow I was able to allow people to sign up for the activities with only one click.
This worked great but the Activities are more than one and if user can only sign up for one item at a time.

Looks like the workflow start only once from the page and then cannot be started again using the above method.
I was wondering why this is happening?
Could not find any solution or the reason why this is happening?

When I run setup.exe it fails saying the WSS Timer Service is not started. I have checked the service and it is running. I have a 64bit system and I was wondering if that is causing the issue?

Actually I found I needed to run my command prompt as an admin, and use "runas" commands for each STSADM line, but that only got me past the "Access denied" errors - solution still does not appear in the "FEATURES" folder, in Central Admin's Manage web application features section, nor are the extra workflow options available when creating a new workflow. But I'm thinking this should be correct, batchwise, after I do a runas to start a command prompt as my admin account:

Workflow sometimes doesn’t even start, if there are any actions with permissions. Sometimes workflow starts, but only logs are written to history and workflow fails on any other actions.

Whenever I try to use 'Get InfoPath form field inner text' with a rich text field in an InfoPath form, I get the following error:

DP.SharePoint.Workflow.DPWorkflowException: Error getting form value where path = Text Inside the Form Field ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

In SharePoint 2007, the workflow will not send the Extended email, Email with List Item Attachment, or Email with HTTP file attachment. The same workflow will email the standard email. I've activated the Web Application Feature in Central Administration. The web.configs file on all Web Front Ends and Applications servers in the C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\ location have the following entries:
