I pretty new to Sharepoint in general and was wondering if there was a step by step guide on how to install the Designer Custom Workflow activities to a site.

The installation is simple and there is an install guide included in the download. Here are the steps from it:

1. Extract all files in the arhive to a singe location.

2. Run setup.exe

3. Go to Central Administration -> Application Management -> Manage Web Application Features and activate the feature for desired web applications (usually it's Sharepoint - 80 or Sharepoint - 443).

4. If you have a non-english installation of sharepoint, you need to copy DPWorkflow.ACTIONS from SP HiVE\TEMPLATE\1033\Workflow to SP HiVE\TEMPLATE\"YOUR LCID"\Workflow

5. Open up Sharepoint Designer, connect to your site and create a new workflow, "Send an Email with HTTP File attachment" should appear under custom activities.
